Agency Statement

“Open Aid Alliance is radically committed to supporting the LGBTQIA+ and Two Spirit community. We stand against any form of oppression, bullying or violence–including legal actions and attempts to strip away inalienable rights such as access and choice in healthcare including abortion, gender affirming care, and comprehensive sex education in schools. We say gay with PRIDE.

In Montana, we specifically denounce 2021 legislative and executive efforts to ban trans girls from sports teams and the near elimination of all options for transgender people to update their birth certificates to reflect their gender identity.

We stand in support for future legislation action that fosters inclusivity such as including gender identity as a protected class across Montana. As our state moves closer to a new legislative session this statement will act as a living document for us to declare our support and dissent.
